Uganda Rwenzori Natural – Dark Roast
$10.00 – $37.50
Taste Notes: Gooey chocolatey brownie with lot’s of rich deep sweetness of date syrup and caramel. Thick body and a clean cup that is mellow and balanced with zero acidity.
Uganda coffee is increasing in popularity after years of poor quality and inconsistency. New and improved washing stations have increased quality and methods of processing. This coffee is from the Kasese District along the Rwenzori mountain range which has fertile volcanic soil and ideal growing conditions.
In the natural process, only the ripest coffee cherries are harvested, with drying taking up to four weeks. The cherries are dried whole, without removing the fruit, on raised beds under the sun. Regular turning of the coffee ensures even drying, increases airflow, and prevents spoilage. Once dried, the cherries rest in conditioning bins until they are hulled just before shipment.
